WIBA – The Work Injury Benefit Act: – This is a mandatory insurance cover for all employers under the “The Work Injury Act, 2007.” It protects an injured employee against accidental death, injury, or diseases suffered while in employment.
WIBA-GPA – The Work Injury Benefit Act/Group Personal Accident Insurance – This adds extra protection to the main WIBA insurance. While WIBA covers employees at work, a Group Personal Accident cover extends that protection to cover accidents, death, and medical expenses that happen past the working hours.
The Work Injury Benefit Act (WIBA)/ Employers Liability Insurance (E.L): – In addition to the benefits under the standard WIBA policy, the Employers Liability Insurance cover protects the employer against any legal liability and costs resulting from negligence that led to accidental injury, death, or disease suffered by the injured employee past the working hours.
GPA/PA – Group Personal Accident: – This covers an injured employee against accidental death, injury leading to permanent or temporary disability, and medical expenses for incidents that occur at work or elsewhere.The Group Personal Accident is taken by employers, associations, clubs, etc., while the Personal Accident is designed as a retail product for individuals.
